We are thrilled to introduce a new ministry … at least new for us as Praxeis. It’s called ‘Maritime Connections’. Trevor and Jenny Phillips have been on the journey of ministering to seafarers for years. After discovering the DNA of making multiplying disciples and Discovery Bible Studies that lead to Church formation they have found Praxeis to be a real ‘fit’ for them. It really makes sense when reaching seafarers. We agree!
Seafarers mainly come from developing nations and are typically away from their families for 9-10 months of the year. They work long hours in often dangerous conditions and have little opportunity for contact beyond their ship-bound community. They may be exposed to unethical work practices, piracy and shipwreck. They have brief port visits, and endure extended times at sea meaning seafarers are essentially inaccessible, unseen, and forgotten. They are often open to the gospel.
Trevor and Jenny are based in Brisbane, ministering in the port of Brisbane. Their vision is to see seafarers transformed by Jesus’ gospel of grace and mercy! We would love to see a movement of disciples raised up from the ships and multiplying across the oceans of the world.
For the new ministry of ‘Maritime Connections’. For the inaccessible, unseen, and often forgotten seafarers. Pray for the groups currently running, for new believers and new churches and for multiplication. For Trevor and Jenny Phillips as they minister in Brisbane and beyond with this people group.
